About Deonna Marie

Deonna Marie is a Vocalist, Storyteller, Keynote Speaker, Actress, & Intuitive Vocal Coach from Grand Rapids, Michigan. A classically trained singer with over a decade of experience, Deonna Marie has worked with internationally known vocalists, vocal teachers & coaches, stage directors, and choral conductors. Deonna Marie studied under the tutelage of musical greats such as Duane Shields Davis—known as the godfather of jazz—and Florence Birdwell, who has taught Tony award-winning artists such as Kelli O’Hara and Kristin Chenoweth. Deonna Marie teaches how to take audiences on a journey & brand the souls of their listeners. She has the rare ability to sing in various genres and languages from Mozart to Aretha Franklin.

She is the writer & creator of The Deonna Marie Experience: From the Crack House to the Opera House, a one-woman show about her life, which debuted to rave reviews in August of 2023 at Factory Obscura in Oklahoma City and features original music of several genres.

Deonna Marie has been a Resident Artist with Adèle Wolf Productions for more than 4 years and has been touring with NPR’s Peabody Award-winning, The Moth telling her story on their MainStage in Massachusetts, Dallas, New York City, Canada, Oklahoma, Cincinnati, and Detroit. She was also named one of the 2024 Wildly Capable Women in Issue 03 of Oklahoma City-based magazine, “Hundred Magazine”. She will be starring in the soon-to-be-released documentary, “Finding Cricket’s Choir” and was the vocal coach and recorded the theme song for the upcoming full-length feature film, “Cricket” scheduled to be released soon as well as “Boy Mode” a short film releasing soon.

Through her own experience around vocal trauma, Deonna Marie has studied and established relationships with many vocal healthcare professionals & doctors to cultivate the best methods to maintain a healthy and strong voice. Whether it’s singing, storytelling, acting, speaking, or teaching Deonna Marie uses her rich and captivating voice to transcend emotions, and has raised audiences to their feet on stages all over the world.
